What materials does RapidDirect use?
RapidDirect uses a wide range of metals and plastics, with different options available depending on the chosen manufacturing process.
Our CNC machining materials include various grades of aluminum, stainless steel, brass, steel, copper, titanium, ABS, POM, PC, PA, PMMA, etc.
For injection molding, we offer parts in ABS, PC, PMMA, POM, PA, etc.
Our sheet metal and 3D printing materials depend on the individual project and manufacturing partner.
There are hundreds of material subtypes that cannot be listed here, please upload a CAD file and check the full list at our quote page. See our materials page for a detailed look at our materials and their compatibility with specific manufacturing processes. Depending on the project specifics, we may be able to accommodate other unlisted materials.
RapidDirect can recommend suitable materials based on your requirements. If in doubt, do not hesitate to ask us for a recommendation.
At the request of the customer, RapidDirect can also provide a certification of the material used in the manufacturing process. The report comes from the raw material manufacturer and usually includes:
- Material heat number
- Material grade
- Material dimensions
- Mechanical properties
- Chemical analysis
- Heat treatment (if applicable)
